Classes have been running here since 2005. A central, easy to find and welcoming space. It is a good sized room with a choice of carpet or parquetry to roll your mat on! With ceiling fans and heater to make it comfortable.

We offer 2 weeks classes on a Monday evening
Level 1 - 2 Gentle / Basic at 6pm
Level 3 - 4 General at 7.30pm

Term 3 has started & there is space to join in the 7.30pm class.
Please note there is NO CLASS Monday 31.7.17.

About the classes:

Classes include asanas (yoga exercises), relaxation, breathing practices & meditation following the internationally renowned system of Yoga in Daily Life ®.

The classes offer you guidance in the practice of classical asanas (physical exercises) both passive and dynamic that will build strength and increase flexibility in the body; you will be guided to practice safely and begin to experience their deeper benefits on the nervous system, internal organs and glands, and the mind.

 

The classes also incorporate relaxation, pranayam (breathing exercises) and meditation. The meditation practices are based on Self Enquiry Meditation techniques including mantra, breath work, visualization, concentration, self reflection and self enquiry. 

 

Classes run in term blocks (generally in line with school terms), and bookings are for the whole term. Bookings Essential.

 

Useful Things to Know Before Attending the Classes:

 

  • The classes are suitable for beginners and those with some yoga experience.
  • On your first class please arrive about 15 minutes earlier. This will give time for you to meet the instructor, fill in a student participation form & settle in before the session begins. 
  • The instructors name is Larissa.
  • Classes included the yoga exercises (asanas), relaxation, breathing practices and meditation.
  • Inform the instructor before class of any injury, if you are pregnant, or if you are on medication.
  • Classes are guided and precautions will be given to help you take care in your practice. Please always practice at your own comfortable capacity. Stop if you need to. Let the instructor know of any specific conditions so they can give extra instruction to help you take care.
  • Please wear loose, comfortable clothing that will allow easy movement of your body. No shoes, but socks are good if it’s cold.
  • It is recommended that you do not eat a meal 2 hours before the class.
  • Yoga mats are provided, though it is recommended that you bring your own. Mats are also available for purchase if you wish to buy one.
  • Please bring a cushion & something to cover your body (blanket) to be comfortable for relaxation and meditation.
  • Bring a bottle of water if you think you will need it during the class.
  • Missed classes can be made up by attending a similar class at one of our other locations during the term and term break. They cannot be carried over to the next term of Ivanhoe classes.

We cannot guarantee or reserve a place until full payment is received. If a cancellation is made before the start of the term a transfer will be given to the next term. For a cancellation after the term starts the total amount is non-refundable. In extenuating circumstances an application (in writing) for a refund will be considered at the discretion of the centre manager. A $30 administration fee applies to all refunds.
